Is the tote actually big enough for a real project?

How do I wash the printed pieces?
The same discipline you already use for hand-dyed yarn: inside out, cold water, and skip the dryer when you can. The inks are water-based and rated for repeated washing — treat a tee like a swatch you actually like.
